Retinal inflammation mediated by mineralocorticoid receptor activation depends on its ligands

ABSTRACT: Transgenic rats overexpressing human mineralocorticoid receptor (hMR) under the control of the ecologic promotor 1 (P1.hMR rats) were used as well as their WT littermates. We observed low grade inflammation, RPE abnormatilites and anatomical signs of choroidal neuropathy in these rats. Bulk-transcriptomic analysis of neuroretinas was peformed to identify potential mechanisms.
