Nanomaterial specific cell pertubation patterns during lung inflammation in a single cell resolution
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: The cellular mode of actions of inhaled nanomaterials are poorly understood, though shape and biopersistence of nanomaterials long-since raise concerns in respiratory toxicology. Here we longitudinally analyzed cellular perturbations to three carbonaceous nanomaterials of different shape and toxicity upon pulmonary delivery to mice at single cell resolution. Focusing on the course of lung inflammation, our research aims to reveal highly nanomaterial-specific contributions of cell niches.
