NeuroD1-based in situ neural regeneration for the treatment of radiation-induced brain injury

ABSTRACT: We aimed to study the therapeutic effects of in situ neural regeneration technology in radiation-induced brain injury (RIBI). We overexpressed the neural transcription factor NeuroD1 in the astrocytes of the injured area using an adeno-associated virus (AAV) in a RIBI mouse model. The therapeutic effects were compared with a RIBI mouse model treated with a control virus. Subsequently, we explored the therapeutic effect in transcriptome through a bulk RNA sequencing.
