Gene expressions of primary fibroblasts derived from human right-sided and left-sided colorectal cancer and adjacent normal tissues

ABSTRACT: We compared gene expressions between primary fibroblasts from right- and left-sided colorectal cancer and adjacent normal tissue It is expected that the heterogeneous cancer associated fibroblasts contribute to different biological manifestation in right- and left-sided colorectal cancer. Characterisation of fibroblasts based on their expression profiles via microarray revealed specific markers related to tumour biology and thus elucidate the differentiating mechanism between right- and left-sided colorectal cancer.
