The chromatin remodeling factor Arp9 modulates the drug-resistance of Aspergillus flavus

ABSTRACT: Transcriptome analysis, combined with RT-qPCR validation and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) assay, determined that the absence of Arp9 down-regulated the expression levels of genes Erg3 and Erg6 in the ergosterol synthesis pathway, resulted in reducing the amount of ergosterol synthesized, which rendered A. flavus more sensitive to AMB. This study further revealed that ΔArp9 strain resistance to VOR was modulated by up-regulating VOR's drug target Erg11A and the drug efflux pumps Mdr1 and AtrF.
