IL-18 promotes surgical recovery by mobilizing monocytes and promoting their differentiation while avoiding inflammation [scRNA-seq]
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Innate immune activation is regulated by cytokines and serves as a protective mechanism, its orchestration and timely resolution is essential for patient recovery. In order to investigate the role of IL-18 in a relevant human model, we cocultivated healthy donor monocytes with human iPSC -derived intestinal organoids and stimulated them with IL-18. Single-cell RNAseq data revealed a prominent effect of the stimulations on organoid tissue remodeling.
