Molecular insights into the malignant transformation of endometriosis into clear cell carcinoma
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Endometriosis affects approximately 10% of women of reproductive age and increases the risk of ovarian cancer by 50%. It has been hypothesized that endometriosis may transform into ovarian clear-cell carcinoma (OCCC), a hypothesis that has been investigated using molecular analyses. The present study aimed to identify genes with altered expression in OCCC compared to that in endometriosis and to potentially predict the transformation of endometriosis into OCCC.
