DNMT1 Facilitates the Progression of Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease [snRNA-Seq]

ABSTRACT: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is characterized by notable epigenetic changes, such as alterations in DNA methylation. However, research on epigenetic modifications in human patient and animal models remains sparse. This study investigates the role of DNMT1 in MASLD progression. DNMT1 inhibition restores DNA methylation patterns and transcriptional activity, suggesting it as a potential therapeutic target for MASLD.
