ABSTRACT: Gene expression in the cerebral cortex of VPA-exposed (VPA) and unexposed (UE) marmosets at five age points (neonates, 2 months, 3 months, 6 months, and adults) was analyzed using microarrays. VPA marmosets recapitulated the molecular signature of human ASD, with glial gene expression alterations emerging in the neonatal period, preceding neuronal gene expression alterations.
