ABSTRACT: Purpose: The periosteum plays a crucial role in regulating bone growth and repair; however, the histological and transcriptomic characteristics of the long bone periosteum remain largely unknown. In our study, we aimed to investigate the cellular composition and gene expression profiles of the periosteum in long bones.
