Citrobacter time course mid-colon
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: The regenerative capacity of the intestine declines during aging. When infected with Citrobacter rodentium, a mouse enteropathogen, young C57/BL6 mice undergo a robust regenerative response leading to survival. Old mice, however, continue to lose body weight and do not recover after infection. In this experiment, we performed a time course of the citrobacter infection in young and old mice to understand age-related differences in the intestinal response. These samples are snippets of mid-colon tissue dissected at 0, 3, 7 and 10 days post infection of young and old mice. We have 4 mice per condition.
