RNA-seq analysis of BMSCs differentiated into osteoblasts treated with Hepa 1-6-derived CM and control medium

ABSTRACT: In certain pathological conditions, there exists a liver-bone axis. However, the intricacies of liver-bone communication in HCC growth and metastasis has so far remained incompletely understood. The conditioned medium from Hepa 1-6 cells (Hepa 1-6-derived CM), compared with the control medium, could enhance osteoblast differentiation of Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (BMSCs). To investigate the mechanism by which remote HCC cells mediate the osteogenic activity of tumor-bearing mice, we performed bulk RNA-seq on BMSCs differentiated into osteoblasts treated with Hepa 1-6-derived CM and control medium. Following the analysis of upregulated genes analysis, we identified a significant elevation in C-X-C chemokine motif ligand 5 (Cxcl5), which encodes CXCL5 and could mediate osteogenic activity.
