Induction of anergy in human T lymphocytes by exposure to single amino acid mutated antigens is stochastic
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: A single RNA sequencing approach using 10x Genomics scRNAseq was employed to stuudy induction of anegy in hunam T lymphocytes. Anergy is a condition of immune T cells becoming sustainably inactive. Theoretically, it occurs when a T cell recognizes its antigen but cannot be active. Induction of anergy by single amino acid mutated antigen has been shown in mouse models decades ago. The present study applied this method to human cells in vitro, and demonstrated induction of annergy in human T lymphocytes.
