The Function of Tetrameric MADS-box Transcription Factors in Floral Fate Determination [Mnase-seq]
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: MADS-domain transcription factors (TF) are critical in determining floral cell fate and floral organ identities. However, their function molecular mechanisms are still poorly understood. Here, we show that effective DNA-binding in closed chromatin and target gene regulation of APETALA1 (AP1), a key floral MADS-box TF requires tetramerisation, indicating the fundamental role of tetrameric MADS-box TFs in floral cell fate programming.
