Spatial mapping of telocytes along the crypt-villus axis reveals their role in intestinal homeostasis
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: We employed a single-cell RNA sequencing approach using the 10X Genomics platform to study the diversity of telocyte populations in the mouse jejunum. Telocytes are a unique mesenchymal cell type expressing the transcription factor Foxl1 and forming a subepithelial network along the entire crypt-villus axis. This study characterizes the gene expression profiles and spatial distribution of telocytes along the crypt-villus axis of the mouse jejunum.
