Profile of innate immunity in the skin of patients with SARS-CoV-2

ABSTRACT: The proposal is to analyse global immunity genes in the RNA sequencing of the skin of patients with SARS-CoV-2 We analyzed 8 samples of skin samples from post-mortem patients from Covid-19 of Hospital das Clinicas da Faculdade de Medicina da USP de Sao Paulo. To compare we used 5 skin biopsy from healthy controls, submitted to plastic surgery.

Untargeted plasma metabolomics and lipidomics of hospitalized COVID-19 patients with and without acute kidney injury

Project description:This dataset contains untargeted plasma metabolomics and lipidomics data from approximately 600 hospitalized COVID-19 patients recruited at Hospital das Clinicas, University of Sao Paulo (HC-USP), Brazil. All samples were collected during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in Sao Paulo, before the introduction of vaccination, and include patients who did and did not develop acute kidney injury (AKI) during hospitalization. Plasma samples were analyzed by high-resolution LC-MS/MS in both positive and negative ionization modes. De-identified clinical and demographic metadata (70 variables per patient), including AKI status (KDIGO-based), comorbidities, laboratory measurements, and outcomes, are provided to enable discovery and validation of metabolic signatures of COVID-19-associated AKI and to support downstream multi-omics and repository-scale reanalysis.

Molecular classifiers for follicular adenomas

Project description:Patients were recruited at the Hospital do Cancer AC Camargo (São Paulo/Brazil), Instituto de Enfermedades Neoplasicas - INEN (Lima, Peru), Hospital Araujo Jorge (Goiania, Brazil) and Hospital Heliopolis (São Paulo, Brazil).All patients signed a pre-informed consent and the study was approved by the internal ethics committee. Tissue samples were snap frozen in liquid nitrogen . Before RNA extraction histopathological diagnosis was re-confirmed, all samples were micro-dissected and only tissues with at least 70% of tumor cells and no visible infiltrating inflammatory cells were used as tumor. Morphologically disease-free tissue obtained from surgical margins was considered as normal. A total of 38 samples were analyzed: 8 normal tissues, 10 goiters, 10 adenomas and 10 papillary carcinomas. Keywords: other

Gene expression data from Brazilian SPAH study

Project description:This study is part of previous epidemiologic project, including a population-based survey (Sao Paulo Ageing & Health study (SPAH Study). The data from this study was collected between 2015 to 2016 and involved elderly women (ages ≥65 yeas) living in the Butanta district, Sao Paulo. The purpose of the study was identification of association between transcriptome and the osteo metabolism diseases phenotype, like osteoporosis, vertebral fracture and coronary calcification. Peripheral blood cells suffer alterations in the gene expression pattern in response to perturbations caused by calcium metabolism diseases. The purpose of this study is to identify possible molecular markers associated with osteoporosis, vertebral fractures and coronary calcification in elderly women from community from Brazilian SPAH study. Vertebral fractures were the most common clinical manifestation of osteoporosis and coronary calcifications were associated with high morbimortality.
