Gene expression in Erm-minus and Erm-proficient Staphylococcus aureus strains under sublethal and lethal doses of erythromycin

ABSTRACT: Differential gene expression between five S. aureus strains were determined by RNA-seq. The five strains are ermB_minus parental JE2(WT), ermB_proficient strain (ALS77), ermB_proficient delta_rae1 mutant (ALS101), ermB_minus delta_purR mutant (MNY221), and ermB_proficient delta_purR mutant (ALS97).

Project description:Differential gene expression between six S. aureus strains were determined by RNA-seq in 3 biological replicates.The six strains are ermB_minus parental JE2(WT), ermB_proficient strain (KES29), ermB_minus rae1 mutant (MNY205), ermB_proficient rae1 mutant (MNY212), ermB_minus purR mutant (MNY221), and ermB_proficient purR mutant (MNY224). Two culture media were used: A indicates tryptic soy broth (TSB), B indicates RPMI_1640 supplemented with 1% casamino acids.
