Single-cell transcriptomics of the Drosophila ring gland identifies SoxN–Vvl complex as key regulator of juvenile hormone biosynthesis
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: We have employed a single cell sequencing approach using 10x Genomics scRNA-seq to elucidate the transcriptional landscape of the Drosophila larval corpus allatum (CA). As a a sub-organ within the ring gland, the CA expresses a set of enzymes that mediate steps in the conversion of acetyl-CoA into JH. This study provide single-cell sequencing data of the larval ring gland at early wandering stage, and found that CA-specific expressing SoxN is required for juvenile hormone biosynthesis and metamorphosis.
