Single-cell level gene expression profiles of adult Drosophila midguts with lineage tracing targeting enteroendocrine cells

ABSTRACT: Differentiated cells exhibit cellular plasticity,where they dedifferentiate into stem cells. We studied cellular plasticity of secretory enternendocrine cells (EEs) in the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster. We used flies that had EEs lineage-traced and resolved single-cell transcriptomics of all cell types in their midguts. Our scRNA-seq data have characterized cell-type-gene expression profiles, with a specific focus on EE lineages.
