The effect of TASL knockout on murine B cells following TLR9 stimulation

ABSTRACT: TLR signalling and the IRF5 pathway play a critical role in the activation of inflammatory pathways in B cells. The recently identified innate immune adaptor, TASL, plays an essential role in this pathway, enabling the phosphorylation of IRF5 and thereby the activation of downstream inflammatory pathways. We here identify the role of TASL in primary ex vivo murine B cells, finding that in the absence of TASL, key Interferon stimulated genes (ISGs) and genes involved in cytokine production are downregulated after stimulation by the TLR9 ligand, CpG ODN.
