Gene expression in Tetrahydrocurcumin-treated HUVEC cells
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) plays a crucial role in maintaining endothelial cell function and preventing atherosclerosis. Tetrahydrocannabinol is a metabolite that has better bioactivity than curcumin. This study investigated the effect of the PI3K/AKTpathway on eNOS expression and NO production induced by tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in human umbilical vein endothelial cells. The findings reveal that both PI3Kand AKT are essential for THC-induced eNOS phosphorylation and subsequent NO production.
