Uptake of exogenous phospholipids by Borrelia burgdorferi
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: The Lyme disease pathogen Borrelia burgdorferi can take up environmental phospholipids for membrane biosynthesis. These phospholipids include those also produced de novo by the bacterium (PC and PG) and some that are mammalian-like. We examined the effect of exogenous phospholipids on gene expression.
