Gene expression profiles modulated by lipophilic sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) extract in BT-549 triple-negative breast cancer cells
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Considering that dysregulation of cholesterol levels has been established as one of the hallmarks of cancer, moreover ferroptosis, autophagy, tumor cell, immune cell stemness, and the cellular DNA damage response are regulated through cholesterol metabolism, while recent research studies have shown that dietary supplementation with sea buckthorn reduced total cholesterol only in people with abnormal lipid metabolism, the aim of this study was to identify, for the first time, the main signaling pathways, biological processes, cellular functions, and upstream regulators modulated by lipophilic sea buckthorn extract (LSBE) in BT-549 TNBC cell line.
