Effect of isoprenaline induced cardiac hypertrophy on the rat heart transcriptome
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Sustained hemodynamic load and hypertensive stimuli pressurizes the heart to increase its contractile function to meet the physiological needs of the body, which quickly progresses to stiffening of the cardiac muscles and its pathological remodelling. Differential transcriptomic landscape was explored using RNA sequencing of normal and hypertrophic cardiac tissues from male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats. Subsequent downstream analysis at the transcript and protein levels validated several significantly regulated novel and previously unreported genes playing key roles in cardiac hypertrophy.
