RNA-seq of primary murine liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs) with Gata4 deficiency

ABSTRACT: Liver sinusoidal endothelial cells (LSECs) form discontinuous, permeable microvessels, with a unique gene expression program that differs significantly from that of continuous microvascular endothelial cells in other organs such as the lungs. Gata4 is one of the main transcription factors that drive the transcriptional profile of LSECs. Deficiency of Gata4 in LSECs leads to a pathogenic angiocrine switch, as well as liver fibrosis and hepatopathy. In this study, we examined the role of endothelial Gata4 in the adult liver. Using RNA sequencing, we profiled the transcription of LSECs in a mouse model of LSEC-specific Gata4 deficiency.
