Temporal Dynamics in Murine Cardiac Transcriptome following Myocardial Infarction
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Myocardial infarction (MI) is a leading cause of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. To overcome limitations of prior studies restricted to single timepoints, sexes, or partial tissue sampling, we generated a comprehensive, sex-inclusive, time-resolved transcriptional resource of the murine heart after non-reperfused MI. Male and female C57BL/6J mice were analyzed at baseline and 1, 4, 7, and 28 days post-MI, with ventricular dilation confirmed by echocardiography. Whole-heart profiling, including infarct and scar regions, enables detailed study of fibrotic and inflammatory processes. This dataset provides a rigorous community resource for investigating cardiac remodeling after MI.
