ABSTRACT: Mechanical ventilation (MV) with high positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP) is linked to ventilation-induced diaphragm dysfunction (VIDD), but the role of integrin beta-1 (ITGB1) in PEEP-associated diaphragm fibrosis remains unclear.
