Effect of Sleep Restriction on Skeletal Muscle in Post-menopausal women

ABSTRACT: Purpose: To identify the skeletal muscle adaptations to short-term sleep restriction in postmenopausal women. We conducted a randomized crossover study during which study participants were exposed to either 4 nights of habitual or restricted sleep duration (60% of habitual sleep). Skeletal muscle biopsies were obtained after the two sleep periods.
