Single-nucleus RNA-seq of gonadotropin-releasing hormone 3 (GnRH3) neurons in 7 day-post-fertilization (dpf) Tg(gnrh3:EGFP) zebrafish

ABSTRACT: We applied a single-nucleus RNA sequencing approach using 10x Genomics snRNA-seq to examine the developmental heterogeneity of GnRH3 neurons in 7 dpf zebrafish. GnRH3 serves as the key hypophysiotropic regulator of reproduction, yet the heterogeneity within its migratory neuronal population has remained unclear in 7 dpf zebrafish. By profiling nuclei from 7 dpf Tg(gnrh3:EGFP) larvae, this study provides the first single-cell-transcriptomic characterization of migrating GnRH3 neurons in 7 dpf zebrafish and offers new insights into their developmental organization and functional specialization.
