Single-cell analysis results of pituitary tissue from normal diet (ND) mice and high-fat diet (HFD) mice
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Obesity induces spermatogenic disorders in male mice by affecting pituitary gonadotropin levels. Here, using diet-induced obese (DIO) mice, we found that IP3R1 and 9 ZDHHC family members are highly expressed in pituitary gonadotrophs. Mechanistically, we demonstrated that protein palmitoylation and mitochondria-associated endoplasmic reticulum membrane (MAM) are essential for preventing pituitary endocrine defects and spermatogenic disorders in obesity. Overall design: Collect pituitary tissues from normal diet (ND) and high-fat diet (HFD) male mice.
