Time-course transcriptome of skeletal muscle after contusion in Bama pigs
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Accurately estimating the time since injury remains a critical challenge in forensic science and clinical medicine. To address the significant gap in cross‑species applicability, we first established a high‑resolution transcriptomic atlas of skeletal muscle contusion in Bama miniature pigs. Based on this model, we systematically characterized the early transcriptional dynamics following skeletal muscle injury (SMI) in the same species. Skeletal muscle tissues were collected at 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, and 48 hours post‑injury for RNA sequencing. Our analysis delineates the time‑dependent transcriptional kinetics and reveals key molecular transitions underlying the injury response and early repair processes.
