MicroRNA-200 family inhibits sebaceous gland fate specification by disrupting SOX9 function [scRNA-seq]

ABSTRACT: Hair follcile (HF) are known as mini-organs because of their cycling capability. They also provide an excellent system to study the developmental timeline of these appendages, regulated by multiple factors. However, how another skin appendage, sebaceous gland (SG), associated with the HFs gets specified from the HF-cells is largely unknown. Here using an integrated method we demonstrate how SOX9+ early progenitor cells regulate the fate specification of the SG.
