ROS-related genes as potential diagnostic biomarkers in tuberculosis


ABSTRACT: Microarray profiling of 10 active-TB versus 10 healthy donors (validated in GEO cohorts) revealed 1 300 differential transcripts, 709 ROS-related; within the monocyte module TNFSF13B scored highest, giving AUC > 0.8 for TB versus health or other lung disease, 6-fold induction in Mtb-infected THP-1 macrophages, and post-treatment decline, establishing TNFSF13B as a macrophage oxidative-stress biomarker for active tuberculosis.
