DNMT3L crosstalk with piRNA biogenesis in postnatal spermatogonial progenitor cells
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: We analyzed small RNAs expression profiles of different developmental stages (0 dpp and 8 dpp) to investigate the potential role of DNMT3L in spermatogonial stem cells. We observed that the relative proportion of microRNA and piRNA were similar between wild-type and Dnmt3l knockout mice. However, piRNA origin and composition significantly differed in 8 dpp Dnmt3l-deficiency samples, and the genomic location of predicted precursors remarkably shifted as well.
