RNA seq - comparing ingB mutant to AF293 - Genetic mechanisms of azole tolerance

ABSTRACT: The Inhibitor of Growth domain proteins are conserved in all eukaryotes. Here we show that loss of ING domain protein (IngB) results in tolerance to azoles in vitro and in vivo. To determine the underlying mechanism, we performed a RNA seq comparing ingB mutant biofilms to the reference strain AF293. We found that loss of ingB results in primarily upregulation of genes involved in iron starvation response and dowregulation of genes in mevalonate and ergosterol biosynthesis pathway,
