Functional Analysis of Hepatocyte Host Factor A1BG in Antiviral and Antitumor Effects

ABSTRACT: To investigate the biological function of A1BG in HepG2 cells, we employed siRNA-mediated knockdown and plasmid-based overexpression approaches to modulate A1BG expression. Global gene expression changes associated with altered A1BG expression were subsequently examined using RNA microarray analysis. We found that differentially expressed genes associated with A1BG overexpression were predominantly enriched in pathways related to antiviral and antitumor responses, including the Th1/Th2 signaling pathway, FGFR1 ligand binding and activation, and activation of matrix metalloproteinases.
