Human Achilles tendon spatial transcriptomics


ABSTRACT: We used 10x Genomics Xenium spatial profiling to map gene expression across sections of human fetal Achilles tendons. By combining genetic data with spatial coordinates and histology images, we identified specific cell types—including tendon stem cells, various mature tendon cells, and cartilage cells—and characterized different types of immune cells (macrophages) within the tissue structure.
