Novel repressors of cambium activity in Arabidopsis

ABSTRACT: Higher order mutants between PXY and ER families are characterised by profound secondary growth defects. It is likely that genes involved in regulating cambium homeostasis are differentially expressed in these backgrounds and consequently they could be used as a tool for gene discovery. The secondary growth region of 3-week-old hypocotyls and roots from wild type, pxy pxl1 pxl2 (pxf), er erl2, and pxf er erl2 lines were analysed for tissue composition and subjected to RNA-seq.
