Plasma microRNA profile in infertile patients with adenomyosis, infertile control and fertile control
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Background: Despite advancements in imaging techniques, the non-invasive diagnosis of adenomyosis remains particularly challenging due to the overlap of imaging features with other uterine diseases, and the lack of consistent correlation with clinical presentation limits its diagnostic value, being histological confirmation after hysterectomy still necessary. In this context, circulating miRNAs emerge as promising candidates for accurate non-invasive diagnosis. The study aims to determine, using miRNA sequencing, whether patients with adenomyosis exhibit a differential circulating miRNA plasma profile that can be used as a diagnostic marker.
