Whole-Transcriptome RNA-Seq of Kidney Tissue from Patients in the Alport Spectrum
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Alport syndrome encompasses a spectrum of glomerular basement membrane disorders associated with pathogenic variants in COL4A3, COL4A4, and COL4A5. In this study, bulk whole-transcriptome RNA sequencing was performed on kidney biopsy tissue from 93 samples exhibiting GBM alterations consistent with the Alport spectrum. The dataset includes transcript abundance, alternative splicing, and exon usage information for collagen IV–related and other GBM-associated genes. Publicly available normal kidney transcriptome data from the GTEx project were used as an external reference for selected downstream analyses but are not included in this GEO submission. This dataset provides a resource for investigating transcriptomic variation and splicing complexity in kidney tissue from individuals with Alport spectrum disorders and related nephropathies.
