Eurycomanone from Eurycoma longifolia Jack roots regulates dopamine secretion via transsynaptic GABA signalling in differentiated SH-SY5Y human neuroblastoma cells: a transcriptomic study
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: We employed microarray-based transcriptomic analysis to uncover potential molecular pathways associated with the dopaminergic effect of the quassinoid compound from the plant. The transcriptomic insights generated from this work may provide a deeper molecular basis for the long-debated aphrodisiac properties attributed to the plant We used microarrays to analyse the gene expression and identified distinct classes of up-regulated and down-regulated genes during this process.
