Transcriptome profiling of adult zebrafish skeletal muscle at 7 days post-cryoinjury
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Skeletal muscle regeneration is a complex, multistep process involving coordinated activation of injury responses, tissue remodeling, and myogenic programs. Adult zebrafish represent a robust model for studying these processes in vivo. We performed transcriptome profiling of adult zebrafish skeletal muscle following severe cryoinjury of the posterior trunk musculature. Gene expression was analyzed at 7 days post-cryoinjury, corresponding to an early stage of repair characterized by completion of muscle degradation and the onset of new muscle fiber formation at the injury site, as previously described by Jazwinska et al (2024). This dataset captures transcriptional changes associated with early regenerative events and provides a resource for investigating molecular pathways underlying skeletal muscle regeneration.
