Intercellular competition in transposon libraries can influence Tn-seq outcomes

ABSTRACT: Here, we used genome wide transposon insertion sequencing (Tn-seq) to measure the fitness of genes in the Gram-positive model system Bacillus subtilis. We tested an alternative fitness calculation method that makes use of the predicted transposon insertion frequency.
