An atlas of genetic effects on the monocyte methylome across European and African populations
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: This study investigates the genetic regulation of DNA methylation in purified human monocytes across African American and European American populations. Whole-genome bisulfite sequencing (WGBS) and whole-genome sequencing (WGS) were performed on participants from the Louisiana Osteoporosis Study cohort to characterize methylation quantitative trait loci (meQTLs), heritability patterns, and methylome-wide associations with complex traits. The study provides a comprehensive multi-ancestry monocyte methylome atlas.
