Phylogenetic information of different phenotypic tumors derived from human non-muscle invasive bladder carcinoma cell lines

ABSTRACT: Evolutionary principles govern cancer relapse. This process involves defined phylogenetic signatures at each step and is initiated by the acquisition of therapeutic resistance to form relapsed tumours. Exploring this process, particularly by real-time monitoring, has been challenging because recurrence is a complex and dynamic process involving multiple steps in residual cancer cells. Thus, we leveraged an evolving lineage tracing approach to map cell genealogies and investigate the evolutionary principles underlying cancer recurrence.
