Valve organoids recapitulate human in vivo organogenesis and pathological processes

ABSTRACT: Heart valves maintain unidirectional blood flow, yet most understanding of their development and disease comes from animal models that do not fully capture human valve physiology. We present a human valve organoid model that recapitulates in vivo valve features at cellular and molecular levels. We have profiled the valve cells using single cell mRNA-sequencing at different developmental stages.
