Mechanism of spliceosome termination: branch status introns from ILS and DIS complex spliceosomes

ABSTRACT: This study identifies a new spliceosomal disassembly state (termed the DIS complex) which follows from the previously known ILS complex of the spliceosome. The structure of the DIS complex reveals how spliceosome disassembly is carried out after the splicing reaction is complete. While introns are branched in the ILS complex, the majority of introns in the DIS complex are debranched, priming the intron for degradation. The experimental data contained within this repository demonstrates the branching states of introns from the ILS and DIS complexes. A Snakemake pipeline that reproduces the final analyses used in the publication from this raw data can be found at https://github.com/rfara/spliceosome_disassembly.
