Distinct Bone Marrow miRNA Signatures Differentiate Waldenström Macroglobulinemia from Multiple Myeloma and Reflect Disease‑Specific Regulatory Programs
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Waldenström macroglobulinemia and multiple myeloma represent closely related B-cell disorders with overlapping clinical features but distinct biological characteristics. In this study, we aimed to identify miRNA expression patterns that distinguish these entities and to explore their biological relevance. Small RNA sequencing of bone marrow samples revealed eight miRNAs differentially expressed between WM and MM, of which miR-92a-3p and miR-155-5p were significantly upregulated in WM and subsequently validated by RT-qPCR, demonstrating strong discriminatory performance.Plasme cell leukemia samples were also sequenced, but were not part of this study.
