Transcriptional insights into Azospirillum brasilense-driven iron acquisition in cucumber under contrasting Fe regimes
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Azospirillum brasilense was used to enhance Fe acquisition in cucumber (Cucumis sativus) grown under Fe-sufficient and Fe-deficient conditions. Through a combined physiological and transcriptomic analysis comparing inoculated and non-inoculated plants across both Fe regimes, genes and pathways specifically modulated by bacterial interaction were identified, revealing a Fe-status-dependent reprogramming of plant metabolism and nutrient acquisition strategies.
ORGANISM(S): Cucumis sativus
