RNA-seq of paired epicardial adipose tissue and left ventricular myocardium from 40 human donor hearts across a range of body mass index
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Bulk RNA sequencing of paired epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) and left ventricular basal anterior myocardium from 40 de-identified human donor hearts declined for transplantation (Washington Regional Transplant Community; George Washington University IRB determined not human-subjects research). Donors span body mass index 16-49 kg/m2 and anterior epicardial fat coverage 46-100%. Ribo-depleted, stranded total RNA libraries (TruSeq Stranded Total RNA, Ribo-Zero Gold) were sequenced as 2x101 bp paired-end reads on an Illumina NovaSeq 6000. The resource supports analyses of adiposity-, hypertension-, coronary artery disease- and sex-associated transcriptional programs in the two tissues and of EAT-myocardium molecular coupling. Targeted metabolomics and lipidomics for the same donors are deposited separately at Metabolomics Workbench.
